We are very please to confirm that the online Environmental Sustainability tool developed by Low Impact Development (LID) Consulting with Organica Engineering and the Georges River Council has gone live, and is a requirement for development applicants in Georges River Council NSW to use. This online tool helps to implement the ESD requirements of the Local Environmental Policy (LEP), and pushes sustainability for new development applications beyond the requirements of BASIX. The tool applies to larger developments above a threshold size.

There is already interest from other NSW councils in considering this or a similar tool for use in their local government areas, and we are excited that the tool or similar might spread in use and raise the sustainability bar the way the BESS tool has in Victoria.
