A well sealed building is a requirement of the Building Code, but the quality of the job can vary significantly if trades are not experienced or are rushed.
This two part video series identifies via the use of thermal imaging, the potential for poor thermal performance from poor insulation installation. This is a very significant component of buildings performing worse than expected.
As such we recommend pre-plaster insulation inspections (to review the quality of the installation and ensure installed insulation has not been pulled out by other trades) and also avoiding placing power or phone/data cable points on external walls that can compromise insulation installation.
